"I have nearly finished using my first bag of wash nuts - I was very sceptical, thinking that they weren't going to work , as promised. I am delighted to say that they really do turn out a fresh, clean wash! I tried the lavender oil - delightful aroma- adds to the "freshness" of the wash. "First I was impressed at how well they worked in the dishwasher, it was the first time my glassware actually sparkled. Next I used them in the sink ( once I got used to know bubbles), it was great how the water did not get greasy and I was delighted for the 1st time I didn't sneeze or have a runny nose by the time I was finished. Next was to try them in the washing machine, ( I choose to try the towels) Well, they came out not only clean but soft and fluffy. "Thanks for the sample of Soapnuts. I tried them first on a woolen wash and could feel the difference as soon as I pulled the clothes out of the machine. I found the clothes didn’t irritate my skin like they do using laundry detergent and I love the clean smell. I have used them on all my different washing and they work fantastically on all of them. This week I tried boiling them up as suggested and using the liquid in a cold wash, and I think that’s even better. I have started using them to launder all the fabrics for toys I make, and apart from making the fabrics soft and really clean smelling (not perfume smelling), it makes me feel better knowing there is not detergent residue on them. "I have sensitive skin and also a front loader washing machine, therefore I am very limited in the washing detergents I can use, and be kind on the environment. I thought I would give the soap nuts a go. I was very doubtful that it would do a decent job at cleaning the wash load as other 'natural' products I had tried were pretty useless. I was stunned to discover my clothes have never smelt fresher and the colours and whites are just brilliant. They do a great job on my daughters nappies too. "I was very open minded when I received my sample pack of Soap Nuts. I couldn’t really see how they would clean but I was really very keen to try a natural product. Being a seller of Modern Cloth Nappies, we are always on the lookout for a washing detergent that doesn’t cause a build up, as this is one of the common problems causing leaking with nappies. I am very excited about this product and can’t wait to share it with my customers!" - Karyn Cray, Mother’s Instinct"When my soap nuts/wash berries arrived I opened up the cloth bag dubiously to peek inside and find intriguing shiny brown nuts/berries. Cracking them in half was easy to do without aid of a tool apart from my hands, I used 5 halves and washed my son's cloth nappies. I waited for the machine to fill and start washing, then opened the lid so that my son and I could peer in and see what these soap nuts/wash berries released into the water. I expected to see suds or bubbles or something, I used nothing else but the nuts/berries, no softener and only stain spray on some clothes, when I didn't see suds my faith in these Indian imports was hampered HOWEVER I did a load of the families darks and whites. I hung out my washing (when it goes on the line it normally comes in starchy). I first noticed how much softer the cloth nappies felt when grabbing them off the line, whilst folding my mountain of clothes everything smelt clean (no fragrance but no unwanted odors) and felt clean. I trialled adding a few drops of oil to the bag and overall I am happy with or without the added fragrance. I use only cold water washes so I can only imagine using warm would only get better, I am very pleased with the result of these little wonders.
